Mark Smith (33) and Dreshaun Jordan (24) were slated to begin trial on Monday, January 9, 2023, for their involvement in a gang-related attempted murder of another gang member near the Borough of North East.

Instead, both have entered guilty pleas. Smith entered a guilty plea to attempted homicide and possessing a firearm while being a prohibited person; Jordan entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and other related charges. 

The defendants were linked to the case due to the hard work of the Pennsylvania State Police and Erie Police Department.  ADA Jeremy Lightner and ADA Steven Liboski represented the Commonwealth. 

Sentencing is set before the Honorable Judge David G. Ridge for January 19 for Smith and March 1 for Jordan.
