Erie Man Sentenced to 9-18 years for 18th Street Killing
In January of 2023, a jury of Erie County citizens found Kyontia Blanks (26) guilty of voluntary manslaughter and all other five charges he faced, including Firearms Without a License and Aggravated Assault, for the shooting and death of Frederick Perry at 18th and Chestnut Streets in Erie on October 21, 2020. On February 28, 2023, the Honorable Daniel J. Brabender, Jr., sentenced Blanks to 9-18 years of incarceration for those crimes. Chief Deputy District Attorney Gregory M. Reichart prosecuted the case, along with Assistant District Nicholas Maskrey on behalf of the Commonwealth.
