Erie Man Sentenced to 9-18 years for 18th Street Killing

In January of 2023, a jury of Erie County citizens found Kyontia Blanks (26) guilty of voluntary manslaughter and all other five charges he faced, including Firearms Without a License and Aggravated Assault, for the shooting and death of Frederick Perry at 18^th and Chestnut Streets in Erie on October 21, 2020.  On February 28, 2023, the Honorable Daniel J. Brabender, Jr., sentenced Blanks to 9-18 years of incarceration for those crimes.  Chief Deputy District Attorney Gregory M. Reichart prosecuted the case, along with Assistant District Nicholas Maskrey on behalf of the Commonwealth.
