Orguna Sanders (52) was convicted after a two-day trial of all charges including Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm without a License and related charges for the shooting of Jonathan McClendon on March 18, 2021 in the 300 block of West 2nd Street in the City of Erie. Attorney Nick Maskrey prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth. During trial, the Commonwealth presented testimony, video surveillance, and forensic evidence including DNA, fingerprints, and gunshot residue to prove Sanders committed the shooting. Sentencing is scheduled for January 20, 2023 before the Honorable Judge John J. Mead.
