Richard Martin Conner (47) of Erie, Pennsylvania, was convicted of Aggravated Assault (F1), Aggravated Assault (F2), Burglary (F2), Criminal Trespass (F3), three counts of Terroristic Threats (M1), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), and two counts of False Imprisonment, on May 11, 2022. The jury took approximately three hours to render a verdict of guilty at all counts, except one count of Firearms Without a Licensed (F3). Attorney Emily C. Downing represented the Commonwealth at trial.
Erie Police Department charged Conner based on a series of incidents on October 23-25, 2020, during which he pointed a firearm through the window of his nephew’s residence and stated, “Wait till I see you outside.” Conner’s nephew had recently begun a relationship with Conner’s ex-girlfriend (the victim). Conner then went to the victim’s home and waited for her to return. When the victim and her friend arrived at the victim’s residence, Conner emerged from a closet, struck the victim in the face with a firearm, and fracture her jaw. Both women were held at gunpoint and not permitted to leave for several hours. No firearm was ever recovered by police.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 26, 2022 before the Honorable Judge John J. Mead.
