Erie Man Convicted of Attempted Homicide for Reed Street Shooting
After a week of trial and hours of deliberation, a jury found Larry Sledge (41) of Erie guilty of attempted homicide and other related charges, including numerous firearms offenses, for kidnapping a North East woman at gunpoint and later shooting her in the head outside of a house on Reed street and leaving her for dead. The jury also found Sledge guilty of felony victim intimidation for sending a letter to the victim pressuring her to not cooperate with law enforcement. Although the two cases were charged separately, ADA Hillary Hoffman, who prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth, elected to try the two cases together.
Sledge is scheduled for sentencing in both cases before the Honorable Judge John J. Mead on October 31, 2022.
