45th GRADUATION CEREMONY
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office and the Court of Common Pleas of the Sixth Judicial District cordially invites all to the 45th Graduation Ceremony of Erie County Family Dependency and Treatment Court, which will be held next week on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 9:30 AM in Courtroom H of the Erie County Courthouse, 140 West 6th Street, Erie, PA. RSVPs are NOT required, and all are welcome! It is expected that a total of four (4) participants from the Family Dependency Court will be graduating, as well as, at least ten (10) participants from the Treatment Court- Drug & Mental Health program.
The participants of these Treatment Court programs have worked very hard over multiple years to better their lives and the lives of those around them. Struggling with addiction or mental health, their journeys have been full of struggles but their perseverance led them to this point in their lives where they could gain back control and be productive members of society. Those in attendance at this Graduation Ceremony will get to hear briefly of the participants’ backgrounds and personal stories, as each graduate will be introduced by different members of the Treatment Court Team. The Treatment Team is made up of lawyers, social workers, probation, and case managers, and is headed by The Honorable John J. Mead of Erie—all of whom have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of its ready and willing participants.
The Graduation Ceremony is also a nice break in the day to see some of the positive changes in the County, with the driving force being the progress made by the County’s criminal justice system, particularly with respect to rehabilitation and recidivism reduction.
We hope to see you there!
